Christmas Dinner

Village Society Christmas Dinner -

another festive evening with, hopefully all the usual joviality

A.G.M. 2017

The Village Society Annual General Meeting was held on the 27th October. The Meeting, which was well attended, took a brief look back at the activities and successes of the past year as well as looking forward to the coming year’s Programme, which was formally published on the evening.

Records from the Treasurer highlighted a healthy and thriving Society with a steady membership of around 100.

All of the 2017 Committee members were returned for another year with an open invitation from the Chairman for others to join at any time. The Chairman expressed his appreciation to all of the Committee members who had, over the past year, made significant and active contributions to the running of the Society and its events. A special appreciation was also expressed for all the ‘behind the scenes’ people who have quietly made things happen.

The Bill Wood Memorial Shield Presentation (which followed the V.S. A.G.M.)

The Bill Wood Memorial shield is awarded to ‘an individual or couple who have made a significant contribution to the Community’. This year the event was hosted by Frampton Community Association and the shield was presented by Derek Barnes on their behalf, to Daphne Gardner. The award was made in recognition of all the work that Daphne has put into the village over very many years. Daphne is well known for her 20 year Chairmanship of the Community Association but in addition to this she has initiated or supported numerous other clubs and organisations including being a long standing Committee Member of our own Village Society.

Daphne was presented on the evening with a personal commemorative Certificate and the Bill Wood shield which will remain on permanent display in the Village Hall.
